Our forest project

Little roots. Big adventures.

Help us work towards a Forest School: a greener school environment where children can explore, discover and learn through nature.

Our vision is to develop the school’s outdoor environment and create opportunities for regular, hands-on learning:

01 / Curiosity & discovery

Space to notice seasonal changes, explore natural materials and ask questions about the living world.

02 / Confidence & connection

Opportunities to work together, try new activities and develop practical skills through supported outdoor learning.

03 / Care for the natural world

Planting and looking after growing spaces could help children build a lasting connection with their environment.

Small trees.

A growing possibility.

Initial research suggests trees around 1.2m tall may cost approximately £5 each, with potential annual growth of 50–100cm.

These are early estimates, not supplier quotes or guaranteed growth. Species, growing conditions, availability and planting care will affect costs and growth. Delivery, protection and maintenance still need to be costed.

Could local suppliers lend a hand?

Some local vendors may be open to donating trees or materials. We’d welcome introductions to nurseries, growers and businesses willing to explore this with us.

Before ordering, we’ll need advice on which species suit the school grounds, how much space they need and how they will be cared for.

No tree order, supplier donation or planting schedule is confirmed.

Canopy Project

A little shelter. A world of possibility.

Help us to get a new canopy for our school — a welcoming, sheltered space for learning, play and coming together.

More room to learn. More reasons to be outside.

The aim is simple: make more of our outdoor space, with shelter that helps children and staff use it more often.

01 / Learning beyond the classroom

A sheltered setting for small-group activities, creative projects and outdoor lessons.

02 / Room for play & connection

A welcoming place for children to spend time together and for the school community to gather.

03 / More usable outdoor space

Shade and shelter from passing showers could make outdoor activities easier to plan. The final specification will guide how the space is used.

Every kind of help counts.

Future donations

When the GoFundMe campaign launches, contributions of any size will help us work towards the target.

Local business support

Could your business sponsor part of the project, offer a donation or help us reach more people? Connections to nurseries or local vendors who may offer suitable trees, materials, discounts or donations.

Expertise & quotes

Help from Forest School practitioners, landscape specialists and people experienced in developing school grounds. We also welcome introductions to suppliers and installers who can help develop a suitable, costed proposal.

Practical help & ongoing care

Volunteers who could support future planting and maintenance, once activities are agreed with the school. OR who can identify suitable grants, check eligibility and support applications once the plan and costs are ready.

Help spreading the word

Once the campaign is live, share it with family, friends and your wider community.
